Trinseo’s MAGNUM™ ABS Resins are manufactured with our proprietary continuous mass polymerization technology. Our mass ABS is purer, cleaner and superior as compared to emulsion ABS since the continuous process results in a more consistent, stable and reliable product. Because supply consistency is a critical success factor for our customers, ABS manufacturing and supply are aligned with our approach of global availability and regional production. MAGNUM™ ABS Resins are produced in exactly the same and consistently high quality in Zhangjiagang (China), Terneuzen (The Netherlands) and Midland, MI (USA).
Our continuous mass polymerization technology that is used to produce MAGNUM™ ABS yields a resin with a highly consistent, white base color resulting in a very cost-efficient resin for self-coloring. The superior natural whiteness of the resins makes in-house coloring easy, requiring less pigment. Thermally stable with a wide processing window, MAGNUM™ ABS Resins also ensure excellent processability.
MAGNUM™ ABS injection molding and extrusion grades are available in a broad range of medium- and high-impact versions that offer distinctive advantages due to the mass polymerization process:
- Excellent white base color
- Superior lot-to-lot consistency
- Low VOC level
- Low gel level
The advantages of MAGNUM™ ABS Resins bring significant benefits for productivity and efficiency, including:
- Cost savings on coloring
- Widened processing windows due to thermal and processing stability
- High-end aesthetics due to their low gloss and low gel properties
- Long-lasting color quality through high UV light resistance
- Shorter pre-drying times, thus improving machine utilization

MAGNUM™ CO2NET™ BIO ABS RESINS
Trineo’s MAGNUM™ ABS Resins include a wide range of injection-molding and extrusion grades. Manufactured by continuous mass polymerization, they offer low base color, high thermal stability, low moisture pickup, superior lot-to-lot consistency, and a purer polymer due to lower levels of process additives. As a result, their ABS products allow for easy coloring, cost-efficient processing, and superior surface quality.
Benefits of MAGNUM™ BIO ABS:
- Prime quality
- No need to re-qualify
- Quantifiable environmental benefits
Trinseo’s MAGNUM™ BIO ABS can be used with existing tooling and equipment under the same processing conditions. There is no need to requalify any of the materials – they are structurally and functionally the same as their fossil-based counterparts. Letters of Sameness can be provided with this verification.
