Determining Rotomolded Part Cure

Proper cure in roto-molded parts is critical. Over-curing or under-curing can both lead to poor part performance and brittleness. Understanding how to evaluate and measure the cure condition is paramount in producing high-quality, high-performance parts. Understanding how to perform a visual inspection of the inside surface of the part, or of a cross-section of the part, to determine the state of cure, is valuable knowledge and can ensure that your roto-molded parts will perform as designed. Additionally, using temperature strips or a data logger temperature recorder to determine the Peak Internal Air Temperature (PIAT) is another method that can be utilized, along with the visual method, to ensure parts have been properly cured.
